November 2, 2009: Day 2 of Art Every Day Month 2009 at Creative Every Day.
Today I went crazy in the scrapbooking section at the Hobby Lobby. Now I'm not a scrapper - haven't made a scrapbook since college and that was well before the scrapbooking phenomenon - but I had paper flowers on my mind. I bought a bunch of pretty papers, a self-healing mat, a Fiskars Ultra ShapeXpress shape cutter, circle and heart shape templates, a hammer-style hole punch, and some brads.
I spent the evening at my grandmother's kitchen table cutting flower petals in varying colors, shapes, and sizes, punching holes, layering, and securing with a brad. Here is a sampling of what I ended up with:
I have not decided what I'll use them for, but I'm sure I'll find a proper use. Maybe gift bag embellishments or in place of a bow on a gift box. Regardless of where they end up, I sure had fun making them!
Happy Creating!

How cool! I love your flowers! Very imaginative and creative. In addition to the ways you suggested, they could also go well on an art journaling page, or just a mixed media piece! I'm sure they will find the perfect home soon.
