Day 10 of Art Every Day Month over at Creative Every Day. What to do, what to do....
Today I did not have a particular project I wanted to work on, so I opened a new pack of colored pencils, got out a sketch pad and a compass, and did a little sketch. I started out drawing some overlapping circles of about the same size. Then I began filling the resulting spaces with color. I started with the purple spaces and then the bright pink. When I got ready to move into the center space, I decided it needed a face. I was inspired by faces with big, beautiful eyes I saw on Carmen's (another AEDM participant's) blog, Silver Artisan. I obviously do not have Carmen's fabulous drawing talent, but her beautiful face drawings inspired me to add a face to my drawing sketch. And before I knew it, my geometric sketch became the Sun!
Tonight I'm passively participating in the creative process by joining the audience of A Christmas Story at Actors Theatre of Louisville. I'm very excited to see this live theater version of a favorite holiday movie -- complete with a local Ralphie!
Happy Creating!

Thank you for the kind comment on my blog. Your piece is really fun! Nothing like a new pack of colored pencils to get us creating.
